The car ticks up the tracks,

Approaching the top at a speed that defies gravity.

Slowing is not anywhere in its plans.

We are flying;

The rainbow sky swirls around us -

Shades of pink are prominent.

Purple makes a frequent appearance as well.

Far from pastel, the overall vibrancy is reminiscent of ephemeral sunset colors, but does not adhere to the physics of light angles or horizon lines.

The tike who painted this one used her fingers and every drop to saturate the entirety of the canvas.

No one could convince me to get on a Rollercoaster.

Not sure how I got here, though

Surprisingly, not as scared as I would have imagined.

The start of the ride: abrupt.

The climax: unusual.

I've only been on one of these years ago, in my youth:

As I hope the tracks are not, I'm a little rusty,

Does Mavis Staples, or her head, usually appear, larger than life,

In the sky above the ride,

Performing a personal concert for you,

Singing when you get to the top of the highest point,

As the tracks curve around the sky?

No?

Didn't think so.
