Rocking’ the Blues

Hiding My Fear

My space

Rocking’ the Blues

I’ve felt alone,

An empty vessel,

Cobalt blue,

Quietly dripping in my veins.

A desert in front of me,

An ocean behind,

No where to run,

No where to hide.

My smile a facade,

I conceal my feelings,

I don’t dare to risk,

A tragedy of humanity.

I’ve lost the fight,

The urgency,

To just be me,

To exalt, enjoy.

To frolic like a child,

Make snow angels,

Ignore antagonists,

Lavish in living.

It too shall return,

Melancholy will retire,

I shall overcome,

Just not today.

About the Creator

Gregory Dolan Dies

I’ve been around the block a time or two but due to a bad left hip I never get far, I just keep walking in circles. I’m an old rusty merry-go-round that will leave you cut and in stitches.
