With zest and energy, you rise again

Rise

You can't stand on your feet. Your hands are swollen and filled with blisters.

You cling to the floor matting, trying not to fall over. The heaviness of your body is too much for you – you're tired and unendingly hungry – but you try again: if only just to hold your head up.

You force yourself upright, holding on to the table so tightly that your hands are turning white. The smell of food makes you feel sick – but you can't stop thinking about it.

Once again, you take a step forward with the strength that's left in you.

The floor is cold against your feet, but you can feel the warmth of the sun on your back.

You rise again like giants from the ashes, so strong and so vibrant.
