Reverie of You

A poem by Kyle Manzione

By Kyle ManzionePublished 6 months ago • 1 min read

In morning’s pale glow there was a moment I thought I saw you

Your visage, god rays break through storm

Your raven feathered hair, eyes iridescent gleam

Painful dreams of you with my waking eyes

Twilight memory of your touch

Heat that caressed my face

Only for an agonizing moment

Before you faded into the blur of time

Dark canopy that envelopes sky

The autumn of our embrace

Your taste, scars on my tongue

Emotional shadows that can no longer be touched

Moments forgotten, never had

My heart chasmed

Kiss-burdened for eternity

I should have followed you my dear

Specter of love

Before you disappeared

Into still, soundless night

Elegysad poetry
