Return
A series of endings stumbling into beginnings

Paper wings break from the chrysalis of words that once consumed you
Erratic movements dislocating joints to find peace
A peace that does not exist in yearning, searching, or attaching to outcomes
Where your hopes lie dormant as the skies tears dilute the salts from your own
Tiny rivers run downstream against the cheeks of wax figures gathering at your procession
Unable to harness your light from shallow eulogies
A healing touch covered in oil embalms sensations into the gloves of pallbearers
Reluctant to carry you from the hearse yet obedient as they march towards providence
I watch on as you levitate in stillness
The scent of fresh soil masks the air as Mother Earth is primed to greet you
Amid your cold descent, I uphold a flame to carry on
The fire within now returns as I stop begging for it to keep me warm
