Shifting thoughts,

much like shifting gears,

my mind races from one place to the next

and knows no rest‐

My brain has no brakes,

and with that, no breaks‐

Hating everything that is here and now...

I'm crying, but without shedding a tear‐

In this place, love no longer lives here...

but stress, that resides now‐

Hence why I am present everywhere except the present...

my commitments aren't kept through discipline, but via resentment‐

The space behind this mask I wear can be quite hideous,

and quite often so...

Shifting thoughts,

much like shifting gears,

my mind races from one place to the next

and knows no rest‐

My brain has no brakes,

and with that, no breaks‐

Overwhelmed by everything, but invested in nothing,

while existing in a world in which the only thing that is interesting is

nothing...

I am no longer able to believe in anything‐

I hate this acronym that tries to define me‐

and Despair, has more than made itself well known,

for no reason other than the hell of it

and there's just no outrunning it‐

Thank you for reading! Here are some other stories that capture the same emotions and struggle with my experience with ADHD. It's important that I note, it is different for everyone, what I've written doesn't fully capture all of what ADHD is. Remember, you are NOT alone!!! :)

About the Creator

JM

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
