Restful Strokes Of Art

The colors drift slowly across my mind

Soft waves of silence untangle the night

Black rivers curling through scattered light

Calm settles gently where chaos would hide

I rest inside every painted bend

Purple and crimson breathing so slow

Green sparks shimmer with a delicate glow

Quiet moments feel endless again

The world outside keeps breaking apart

Old memories knock against the door

Faces I loved are here no more

Their absence still presses hard on my heart

A faded photograph carries their names

Eyes frozen deep within passing years

Holding the weight of sorrow and tears

Nothing returning unchanged from the flames

I trace each smile that time could not save

Grandmothers, uncles, children once near

Their laughter still echoes soft in my ear

Now only silence sleeps over each grave

The art beside me softens the ache

Paint swirling freely without any fear

Giving my restless spirit clear air

Helping the sadness loosen and break

I breathe with the rhythm hidden in shade

Every bright color washing me clean

Covering wounds nobody has seen

Easing the ghosts that memory made

Tonight I will rest beneath quiet skies

Holding the love they carried through time

Turning my sorrow slowly to rhyme

Peace settling softly behind my eyes
