Rest

Song

By Kaloriinn MasonPublished 9 years ago • 1 min read

When you sing

of death and gloom

you fill your soul

with the truth

you close your eyes

onto this world

and find your peace

within it all

When you dreamed of skies

and endless highs

upon your brightened

youthful eyes

a clouded lie

fog innocents

and as you grow

you watch it die

When you wipe your tears

and ask god why

it's fate to hurt inside

cast away fairytales

of your faith

as now you wait

for darkened wraith

your soul, the reaper's

to take

so set your weary heart

to rest

and embrace

the total emptiness
