Respect the Living Women

That's needed

I find it really odd

that a patriarchal country worships Durga,

the Hindu deity,

the symbol of female empowerment.

Have been doing it since centuries,

but women of the society,

keep suffering.

Come on,

treat the women in your family,

and surroundings well first.

Don’t take away their choices,

or silence their voices,

don't dismiss her as weak.

It’s easy to worship an imaginary character,

but hard to be nice to a living woman,

with emotions, isn’t it?

Hypocrisy is not fun.

I have not forgotten,

few years back,

how a female doctor in her night shift,

studying in her hospital seminar room,

was violated and killed,

by maniac security guard!

Imagine the horror!

I just gave one example.

It’s the job of thinking people,

to shed light,

on the problems of a society.
