Resolution

of Reticence

"Momma" by K.Lee

(i)

I have collected words for over 40 years.

Words that burrowed under my skin

etched themselves into my heart.

Words that waited patiently in the dark for the day

I would no longer silence myself with trepidation,

but rather, emboldened by their creation,

I would embrace the light.

(ii)

Now as the new moon shines darkly

defiantly challenging

the deafening silence

of the long winter’s night,

I manifest these words

planted long ago;

stolen pomegranate seeds

abandoned along the edges

of well-worn paths.

(iii)

Wise words written

by wondrous women

on the bark of Celtic ash;

poetry for the gods

quickly dismissed

by the fount of knowledge

as nonsense,

long since forgotten.

(iv)

Now regenerating,

under the shadows of the hidden moon,

the silvery goddess

speaks words we can not hear--

words that we must remember.

Words that now shimmer

fluttering

behind my eyelids

slowly revealing themselves

silky threads

weaving webs

under the light of the full moon.

(v)

Replacing the dark recesses of night

with a million little sparks

energy colliding

explosions

burning bright

begging to be seen

rediscovered

freed

released onto the world.

  • So here’s to new adventures and actually putting my “ramblings” out there for others to read. I appreciate you sticking with me up to this point. I would love some feedback, a follow, some love, a tip, or maybe even a pledge to help me continue this adventure. Thanks again for reading as every read counts! Hugs, Stacey
