He had smooth brown skin

They scraped the beauty away,

And stained the concrete…

Yes, he resisted

Chants circled like wildfires

As red burned his eyes

-

He had smooth brown skin

Soft as his breaths slowing down

Now scarred and ruined

-

Yes, he died too young

A young bird still growing wings

Just trying to live…
