Resilience

A Verse for the Broken Hearts

By Angel Lee ann ShivambuPublished 3 years ago • 1 min read

In the depths of sorrow's heavy shroud,

Where pain resides, unspoken, loud,

I pen a verse for the broken hearts,

Whose souls have been torn apart.

Like shattered glass on cold, hard ground,

Love's promises lost, no solace found,

In this realm of darkness and despair,

I offer words, a tender, healing prayer.

In silent nights of endless ache,

When sleep eludes and dreams forsake,

Know you're not alone, my dear,

For countless hearts have shed the same tear.

The echoes of love's sweet refrain,

Now a haunting melody of lingering pain,

Yet within these verses, find a glimmer of light,

A reminder that hope can still ignite.

The anguish may consume, overwhelm,

But time's gentle touch shall help you reclaim,

The shattered fragments of your wounded soul,

And piece them together to make you whole.

Let the tears flow, release the pain,

For healing starts when sorrow wanes,

Embrace the ache, embrace the scars,

For they speak of battles fought, not bars.

Through heartache's storm, you shall rise,

Stronger, wiser, with open eyes,

For in the depths of despair's abyss,

You'll find the strength to reminisce.

Reminisce on love's tender embrace,

The moments shared, the gentle grace,

And know that though it's gone from sight,

Love's essence lingers, forever bright.

So take this verse, a heartfelt plea,

To hold onto hope, to set you free,

For heartbreak may bruise, may tear you apart,

But it cannot extinguish the flame in your heart.

Know you're not defined by love's demise,

But by the resilience that in you lies,

You'll mend the pieces, find strength anew,

And love's melody will sing once more, for you.
