Resilience in Nature
Appreciating Nature
As the brightness of the morning wakes me up from my tent
you can see the sun overlooking the valley as it rises
The rooster crowing the arising morning as its way of keeping times
The early mist on the grass as its draws dew,
As I make my walk across the forest
Overhead, I can see the pines and leaves blowing like a wind in its own shadow
Spending the entire day hiking as day becomes night into the distances of the sunset
Next day as I go walking to my right, I see the countryside
The smell of the field of grass between houses and farms
The freshness of the hay that the farmers worked on all day so that horses and cattle would have food
The sheepdog watching over the sheep
The working horses helping with the tending of crop fields
The pigs in the stalls fattening up and would become soon a piece of bacon and pork
Not only that put in most barns you will see barn quilts
Seeing of this nature makes me appreciate the cycle of nature; living and the dead
After the day ends, I lean back in my chair on the deck porch
And as the evening darkens and comes on,
You can see the sky filled with stars, constellations, and planets
I have realized that all the time that I have just wasted taught me something
Taught me something to appreciate the beauty of life!
