Not a word in the five years I had been away,

Now no words can be uttered again.

Your prayers were to leave before my ailing dad,

A wish that came true.

There were so many things I wished I could tell you,

Yet while breathing you did not want to lend an ear.

Even though it was a relationship strained,

I am broken, shattered and in pieces.

He that gives life, then takes away,

We are not in this world to stay.

Yet I will continue to say,

When my time in this world is over,

Our energies will collide,

And we will be together.

Author's notes: My mom passed away Sunday January 12th at midnight. When I read the message I was on my way to work. While I did work, I burst into tears several times. My mom was only 67-died of septic shock. My dad is 74 and has a lung condition.
