Remembering Nicole

This poem is in honor of a staff member leaving the Club Nova clubhouse.

What is it like,

For someone you know so well,

To leave the community you share?

In the beginning,

We were member and staff.

As time passed,

I got to know her

She was the queen of the kitchen.

Making meals for all of Club Nova.

She never spoke hatred,

She was always a kind person.

As time passed

And Club Nova staff came and left

She was always supportive,

Towards everyone at the clubhouse.

Sadly,

Inescapable events,

Forced her to retire.

Although she is gone,

From working with her second family.

She will never forget,

The bonds she made,

At Club Nova.

Nicole,

If you’re reading this,

It’s been a pleasure getting to know you.

Club Nova and I will miss you.

We wish you the best of luck,

With your future endeavors,

And hope to see you return,

At least once.

Good bye,

But not forever.
