Scream. Jump. Tear our hair out. We react like this to adverse news because it is human to wish that we can exert some control over difficult circumstances and

steer them our way.

Yet, there are things that are difficult to control. Some are out of the realm of possibility. So how do we let go and move on?

It requires an acknowledgement of our emotions and the ability to remain a little stoic. We'd also have to admit that it's not within our ability to grasp all circumstances, however we try. Enjoy this abedacerian poem.

An insect elegant and poised

Butterfly, beautiful, winsome, free

Creature made to enjoy

Dandelions, daffodils, life among the trees

Ever unburdened by life's ploys

Free heart of hate with its release

Grievances go when it flies

Hatred parts when we leave it with the flowers

Irks and quirks stall within the hour

Jealousy leaves when it soars high.

Kindness to one's heart begins

Love when the little butterfly hops

Mercy to one's soul instilled within

New, if the butterfly does not stop

Or dances on petals with a spin

Power to self when this creature roams

Quietly among fronds and roses

Released with an open soul

Soars above when nothing opposes

Turn over closed palms and let it fly

Upwards in the clear blue sky

Villify oneself with each new day

Wake heart of gladness when it comes out to play

Xylophone tones will sound sweet

You feel the rush of joy when hands part to let the creature

Zoom from flower to flower and other ones meet.
