Holding on to it

This anger raging inside

It does me no good

And there is no rewind

*

I don’t remember

Not feeling this way

Where the little things

Didn’t cause me so much pain

*

But here as I stand

Years in the making

I think 'I'm done'

There is no more waiting

*

I'm releasing you, this hold you have

Consider it crushed

I can't keep feeling as though

I might combust

*

The hurt... the pain...

You don't really care anyway

So why give this another thought

For another damn day

*

I processed, I pouted,

I screamed and shouted

*

And I'm tired and finished with this

Not so merrily-go-around

For me... I finally let you go

And I'll leave this here without a sound
