Regurgitate Those Secrets
It’s time to put them all to bed
Secrets, they can be an absolute joy
Or they can cause immeasurable pain,
But there’s no doubt in my mind
Secrets, they’ll not eternally remain.
***
Secrets have a habit of coming out
At the absolute worst possible time,
So with all that in mind, maybe
You should choose to lay it on the line.
***
We’ve all got at least one of those secrets
If not, then I wonder have you really lived,
I’m sure we’ve all got a skeleton in the closet
Let it out, it’s time for you to forgive.
***
Holding on to our deepest secrets
Could be harming us in the long run,
I know I’ve quite a few buried deeply
Air them on out and let them be done.
***
For once, for all and forever
Let’s dust off those secrets we buried,
Let’s put them to bed for all times
So we can have fun, dance and be merry.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
