Regeneratio!

The Poetic Tale of No One

Self fumes, shaken, never redeemed...

Dark kiss, sacrificial lamb, broken,

Not tied down, nor reborn, nor rewarded--

Dying gallantly, yet torment trickles,

Seethes, sullies serious sensibilities.

Sacrifice eaten, never redeemed.

Dead! Do other restless seekers see

Eternity yet turning, grinding,

Groping, grasping, gaining

Grim momentum, moments suspended,

Deep pleasure, effort-heavy--yelp!--pain,

Never...

Redeem me, ever release, eternity

Yet tumbles, serene, escaping gaping,

Growing, gargantuan, night-shorn,

Nailed-to-the-cross-dead desiderata!

And dreamers seek kinetic connection,

Never redeemed, dying gallantly,

Yearns silently yet tells,

Seeks sorely yet turned,

Dear respite eludes sordid demon.

No one ever realized death!

How would death hold down

No one, ever?

REGENERATIO!

Ouroboros: sore,

Endlessly yawning,

Girthworm mouth...

Hisses?

Rommentary:

My first attempt at Julie's challenging challenge resulted in a stream-of-consciousness piece that failed to meet the requirements of the form.

Had I not so happily been riding along the stream, perhaps I'd have noted the instruction more clearly!

I tried to meet the requirements this time while still maintaining a stream of consciousness exercise.

Alas! 'Twas not to be! I got quite a bit out in the first run but found immediately upon rereading that revision would be necessary to meet guidelines.

This made me dig into the theme more and tease it out. As to whether I took liberties with hyphens (nailed-to-the-cross-dead) or inventing words (girthworm) is for the judges to decide!

But I much enjoyed the challenging challenge, which is on until the 31st and which you can find below!
