Reflections.

Of a man, seeing through the looking glass.

By Matt B.Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

The lights that haunt me

And are soon to be followed by silence

Are chained inside three mirrors

That shine like a bright white star

*

The reflection is a reflection of the past

That reflexes are not able to escape

If something is, it’s what it was

Trapped in light, all things stay the same

*

The reflection of reflection of reflection of the flame

Warms my soul, and melting fire burns

But in the thin air that stands between mirrors and space

A silent, echoing question is born

*

“Why?”, The silence whispers…

“What?” As the shadow is but light

“Why?”, Sending down shivers

“What?” Echoes, leaving out lies

*

Darkness imprisoned, things now reflect

Gloom borrows color, and I realize

Why was I afraid of light

Because printed on all things

Is the soul of all things

*

The real world is out there

Here, all things reflect

The world is all shadows!

Except when I see them from nearer

I’m the reflection of myself

As I’m trapped inside a mirror…
