Reflection

Aging Gracefully

By Susan Lee WoodwardPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

Crinkled myopic eyes liberating the fantasy of the impossible return to youth, gracefully accepting inner beauty

Heartbeat soulful rythym keeping time with the years passing through 65 birthdays, lamenting a once robust stamina

Doughy soft sinew hugging the weary bones, pretending they still work with precision, a dull ache as my companion

Freshly laundered derma emitting the fragrance of wisdom, lilacs on a heavy summer day, evoking calmness and peace

Delicious tender sweet lips, long ago doing naughty things, dreaming of the first kiss, tiger ice cream, and saying I Do!
