redboned

i am red, red am I? yes, I am red, red till I die.

By Raven Rose CobbPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

red, like the distant stars

full of fire, bright and far

dreamlike essence, flares like the sun

passionate escalation, a campfire warmth

a bloody dichotomy left on satin red sheets

but blood gives life, yet takes when freed

free yet chained, the perception always changing

red, ever moving, ever shifting, never the same

call me red, red to the core

deep in my skin, in my hair, on my clothes

yes, full of vengeance and loving ten-fold

a Christmas decoration or Halloween gore

the same red lips that accentuate the eyes

hides a smile of murder, desire, and guile

possession, obsession, love and acceptance

red is proud, red is lust, red never tells a lie

red is striking, fierce, a force of power

red is man’s duality, velvet roses on a bed of cadavers

red is all encompassing, the proof of it’s humanity

red, red, red to my bones, i am red and it is me
