You want to keep all the doors shut

I think that says something about who you are

Just like how you like your meat dead

as a door nail

gray in the middle

You tried to unravel the fibers of me

and weave me into a tapestry

that looked like your idea of

an idyllic

pastoral scene

but the fiber of me

was too tightly woven.

You turned to using silence

as a sword

to cut down every sapling

of hope that I planted

and you stole every opportunity

like a thief in the night

and gave away all that precious time

to hours sitting on thrones

The mirror shakes her head at me

and says "girl you should have known"
