Red

Poem

By Katie InmanPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Red is motion

red is the heat of my heart inside my chest

when our eyes meet it’s like a waterfall falling down to my feet

the body knows it’s time to move again

make a move again

red is energy

red is the circulation of life and death -the cyclical pleasure and pain

it’s both loss and gain,,,

when we collide the binary breaks

shatters into dust pressed down by the rain

becomes pigmented and embedded in the earth again

red is a multiplicity

rushing through our veins like buzzing electricity

it brings us to movement before it slows us to rest

red is the space in between where I exist as creature

not female not male

your average nonlinear being stumbling on red rocks

surreal poetry
