Reborn

In ash and flame

No more than an ember

Sputtering and weak

Muse wafted by my ashen bed

Light shone upon me

Utterances issued forth

Crackling, rekindling cold black coals

The miracle of speech

Healed by the human throat

A panoply of notes

Wrapping me in heat

Spark lit, ignition go

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Flames dance to life

Escaping my sphere of control

Leaping from dry, cracked

Blades of deadened grass

To a stump of sun-parched

Splintered cottonwood

Leaving every surface

Charred and black

Past mistakes fuel my growth

Bounding across gaps to

Caress rafters hanging

Just above my head

Making contact and grasping hold

Letting my talons sink deep

Searing bark and heart with boldness

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Devouring every place where

Secrets reside

Gives me strength and glowing pride

Swelling my shimmering phoenix breast

Full immolation shall be the test

Is my renewal complete?

Will I burn out to ash

In a crumbling heap?

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

My reality grows to enormous size

Engulfing all within my eyeline

The flight I've undertaken

Inspires trembling awe

And a hasty retreat from all

Who lay in the path of my

Randomly firing memory and

Vengeful piercing call

I will not alight once again

On a being or branch

Unless it is one who incurs

My plasmic seething wrath

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

I am the Phoenix

Born anew

My flight shall cease

When fuel is spent and

All are slew

Renewal, my only name

The spirit of reprising flame

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Catch my wingtip if you dare

Ride the majestic wind that flares

Going down in brilliant flame

Many prior chose the same

The glorious fate of a billowing blaze

I was one to heed the call

I leaped upon a fireball

Now I fly to heaven’s door

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Transformed to flesh of constant flame

The answer here is scorchingly plain

The phoenix will transmute your fear

Eat it up in a burning zeal

Reform your soul, take hold of fate

Mind and heart conflagrate

πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

Surrender yourself to the muse

Find your phoenix, ne're refuse

Relive your life starting today

Ignite in despair or desire, fan the flames

Trade your fragile layer of

Flame-baked clay

For forward motion

On wings of incineration
