Reality?

A poem about AI

We've all read the books

seen the movies.

1984,

A brand new world.

The Lorax, for Christ's sake.

We all know what is happening.

Frankly, reality is feeling less real than books these days.

When I google something

my helpful AI assistant regurgitates a "summary."

Which will probably tell me it's ok to feed my dog Arsenic.

Every time I see that stupid fucking summary -

I'm reminded of the main character in 1984.

His hole job was re-writing history

so that is reflected what the people in power wanted

the masses to believe.

Only now, in real life

AI has taken that job.

See what I mean?

Books are feeling more real than reality.
