π€
Lifeβs not fair for anyone.
We all have our traumas,
Each of us, everyone β
Some even share the same.
All of us, uniquely bruised.
But for each new experience,
We find a commonality β
Every regret or injury,
Gives us a chance at empathy.
A means to see the world anew,
So that these events, little or great β
Create for us opportunities.
We have the choice, of course,
To close ourselves off,
Shutting the doors within and without.
Yet, if we choose, instead, to embrace,
The realities of what we face β
We may just find someone new,
In need of what is uniquely ours β
A chord that ties us to them.
If you accept this statement of truth,
You may just find a connection,
Not just to them, but to me, too.
Perhaps, you may even find β
A beautiful interconnectedness,
Weaving through humanity.
We all have our traumas β
It binds us together,
Each of us, everyone.
Yet, through these traumas,
Not so unique in the end,
We find a thread within,
Connecting me to you,
And you to me.
Yes, we may find β
Our humanity.
