Raw Beauty of Poetry
This is a short poem inspired by poetry's raw beauty but how its slowly becoming a centrefold for those who just want to control it and formulate it in to something its not, pushing the fun out of the beauty.
Poetry is but an illusion of the moment
written in a time of here and now
yet felt by the reader in a multitude of ways
elements shown in an folding of ways
as poetry is written to emotions and view points of life
that can not otherwise be felt or seen by the naked state of mind and eye.
Poetry is but a canvas painted in a vast collection of colours
a symphony of elegant notes that drive to the heart, mind and soul
this and this alone is the raw value of poetry
but sadly lost in a grammatical demanding society
everything must be perfectly right for those who forget to see the raw beauty
only seeing a surface of the canvas with an image
attacking all little 'mistakes' as they forget those true shades or harmonics .
How bland poetry would become
if its raw beauty would become truly lost
to those so closed off from true beauty, to those that only see the surface
I merely say this view past the surface
read by feeling with your heart and soul
not just by your eyes.
