Oh platypus, with your bill so grand,

And your beaver tail, oh so handy.

You swim in the rivers of Australia land,

With a smile so rare, it's quite dandy.

*

Your feet are webbed, your fur is dense,

And when you dive, you're quite a sight.

But it's your smile, so full of suspense,

That brings so much joy, day and night.

*

You may not be the fastest or strongest,

But your unique charm, cannot be beat.

With your smile so wide, it's never wrongest,

You're a funny creature, oh so sweet.

*

So here's to you, platypus of rare,

May your smile stay bright, without a care.
