Rare And Unique

There are lots of uncommon things that happen

a little more often than you may believe.

Like for instance I came home one day

To a beautiful white kitten

Mom raved about how rare she was

But it wasn't until I saw her that it all began to make sense.

She was snow white and eerily enough that became her name

But was most special about her was the fact that

She was born with something so rare that

it not only occurs in cats but dogs and horses too.

She had one eye that was blue and the other was green.

It is known as central heterochromia.

In every case whether human or animal it is caused by

a lack of pigment, radiates out from the pupil and mixes with another color.

Even though Snow had this rare eye color she was my best friend.

And I am so lucky to have her in my life.
