Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair

But I do not know

What is out there

***

I know that I should not be so scared

That my prince is waiting

But what if I bared

My soul to him and he denied me?

***

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair

I know you only want me

For my beauty fair

***

I do not know what waits outside these walls

What kind of prince awaits me

And my skin crawls

At the thought of giving myself away

***

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair

I know that I am cruel

To make him stand there

***

Is it the outside that I fear so?

Or is it the thought of my prince?

I don’t really know

Which is worse

***

Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair

No, I don’t think I will

Go ahead, hate me; I simply don’t care
