Rapidly Firing Neurons

Bullet with a story on it

My brain stands poised
Rattling
On the inside
Of my acid-corroded teeth
Ready to blow Word spatter
All over the screen
Bits of dead grey memory
Running down the page
No matter how I coax
The metallic trigger
Physically urging it to click
I remain silent
Full of murderous diction
Cocked and loaded
No safety
Not sighted
A violently reactive
Concoction
Congregates in my throat
No way to force
The sound into existence
Until I open my mouth
Heaving, squeezing
One more time
Expecting another
Hollow dud
Finally
Boom!
Detonation
