Raindrops

a poem from a pluviophile

Most seek shelter at the sight of your grey hues, yet I seek you out.

Your different parts all bring a certain calm to my loud mind.

Thunder rolling through the clouds, deafening the stray thoughts that seek to cause anxiety.

Lightning cuts through the darkness, illuminating the shadows and easing fears that do not need to be there.

The coolness from raindrops covering my skin produces goosebumps, letting me know I still feel.

I crave the distraction your rage brings me.

Often, I watch you snuggled up, with warm coffee and a smile upon my lips.

Every rumble and crack is a noise I feel deep to my bone.

Before too long my nostrils are filled with the fresh, crisp smell of the toxic world being purified once more.

Most seek shelter at the sight of your grey hues, yet I seek you out.

It is almost comical the way a storm of nature can comfort the storm of my mind.
