Life’s a rainbow
40+ plus years of living
Heart broken plenty of times
Joyous love always there
Struggling to understand the pain of
child and young adult hood
Being told we should forgive and forget
because it was so long ago
Tears silently streaking down cheeks
with old remembrances
of loved ones no longer here
Struggling to keep the balance of life and love
A new day dawns with joy and love
Every new year is a blessing of time and life itself
with laughter unencumbered
shall we always exist in love and hurt with
color to keep our days in a rainbow life ?
