Rainbow

My soul is a rainbow

By Adrienne T. NugentPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Should I breathe in?

As the depth

Of blue

Surrounds me?

Or let it

Wash over me

Like a cool touch

In spring?

I'm drowning

In a sea

Of soft emotion

And regret

Yet I will push through it

As the colors

Rise up

To meet me

I'll savor

The eminence

Of purple

The golden jubilation

Of yellow

The ebullience

Of orange

The Passion

Of red

Naturality

Of green

My soul is a rainbow

Which pulls

Through the darkness

Bright, shining

Brilliant

Creating a new truth

Out of what was once ash

One where I survive

One where I thrive
