Pushed Aside

A poem.

Troubles pushed aside

Not meant to be snide

The greater good

The oldest could

Feelings matter, but so do others

It's not lonely if you're not alone

Trying to take the pressures

When you don't know the measures

The weight of it all

Makes you feel small

When you should be out and about

When

you

should

be

living

life

Time that can't be bought back

No escape

From

responsibilities you never wanted

responsibilities bestowed upon you

Duty-bound until you found

A way out

A way, far away

Far away from what you know

Just

Far away

Where you stay

Far away from what you know

Far away from home

You moved on

Not because...you wanted to

But because...you had to

Though

In the end

Things turned out well

You still had that feeling

You missed out

You still had that feeling

You missed out

On developing yourself

Before taking on

Someone else

But

Sometimes

Life doesn't run smoothly
