Purple

A poem

By Chloe AndersonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Some call them lighting bolts, some call them stretch marks.

Some people hide them, and some people just can’t.

These purple marks, these lilac lines,

Are proof to me that my body is alive.

Growing with me, holding me,

encompassing every part of me.

Stretching out to hold all the dark and light that fills me,

that spills from me,

that sends chills through me.

These purple marks, these lilac lines.

Some call them lightening bolts, some call them stretch marks.

Some people hide them, and some people just can’t.
