Purple, Purple, Purple!
poems
I see it everywhere,
Painted on the walls,
Spattered on the floor,
Woven into the fabric of my clothing,
Freckling my light skin,
Streaking my hair.
Or even outside,
Where the sky is tainted with a lavender hue,
The dirt being rich violet,
Water reflecting the lilac sun,
It encompasses my entire world.
Even my name is a specific shade of it.
Why is my life this way?
Seeing what others can’t or won’t.
Nobody understands.
It’s maddening.
However, I endure it.
Because despite it all,
No one else is like me,
No one can see the world as I do,
Only I can witness the beauty,
And I’d rather see this color than nothing at all.
