Purple Clocktower

Beacon of Hope or What’s Only In Vain?

The purple clocktower glimmers

And radiates

Like a star

Above the

Cold, bleak void below.

Even amongst

The suffering and impoverished,

Those who have lost

Nearly all faith in themselves

And the world around them,

The clocktower

Illuminated in purple

Still shines on.

Is it meant

To give hope

To those who have none,

Or is it some cheap mockery

Of all the visualized potential

Of what’s right and just

That can never be fully realized?

Either way,

It still shines on...

Long after the time

I gaze upon it,

And far after

I put all the distance

Between myself

And the void surrounding it.
