Color purple
Deep vibrant color
That warms my soul
Makes me think happy thoughts
And makes me giggle inside
The color of my favorite flower that’s tattooed on my ankle
The color that gives me the confidence when I wear it proudly on my face or in my hair.
Or my favorite top with a halter that shows my bare skin
Or the smell of lavender that helps me sleep at night and have sweet dreams
This is why the color purple is so important to me.
The memory of my grandmother and her favorite rose with the sweet fragrance she’d smell and how it would lighten her up and warm her soul
I miss her dearly and she reminds me a lot of myself
Looking out and taking care of others but, forgetting most importantly to take care of ourselves
So let’s remember the color purple will guide us and keep us strong and remind us to take care of ourselves and each other
