Puppets
Too Many Fingers To Have Strings
Skirting the lines of happy
For a transitory thrill
Momentary insanity
With whatever fits the bill
Escaping to my dreams
For some peace and satisfaction
Where nothing is what it seems
And self-desires’ the main attraction
Living caught up in the moment
Doesn’t meet the status quo
Normals true opponent
Giving off a gentle glow
When lurking just below the surface
Lies my misdeeds and intent
Where everything is in its place
And the time we spends’ well spent
Misconceptions and illusions
The truth from someone else’s eyes
A stringless puppets mass confusion
That they insist that we live by

Excellent job with this. Makes me think of the times I can’t live in the moment and get caught up in dreams and thoughts. I liked the flow of this too. Fantastic!
Great poetry. When we allow others control our lives sadness sets in
Trying to live up to the expectations of others is a sure fire way to end up disillusioned & confused. I should know. It's where I spend most of my time.
You are simple and complex; you are a fabulous poet and writer!
