The red of your uniform is blinding

Too similar

Hatred and weaponry binding

And so I tremble

Locked doors and heavy sirens

Sliding grips on wicked air

Long pale faces in my environs

Try as I might I wear

Sign after sign

Heat flashing through me

Handcuffs in your shrine

I pine

Strangers left and right

Sunlight beating down on grey sweatshirts

You are lifted as high as a kite

My fear resumed

You are king at your coronation

Endless cruelty at your hand

You build your case at the station

While I am broken down inside

Psychotic justice

Ambles through your heart

You can no longer trust us

Winter light on your bare legs

We are now delicate leaves

Scraping across the top of your head

You are content to watch us heave

As you scream bloody mercy

Fluttering eyelashes drip

The eerie silence deafening

At our heels you nip

Until eventually we may fold

surreal poetry
