Psychologically incarcerated

Behind cerebral walls

Inaudible shrieks and screams

To which they all befall

.

Unbridled narcissism

Immune to true affection

Manipulation, shame and guilt

Emotional contraception

.

Devastation and demise

An entree of deceit

Lack of serotonin

A war fought in defeat

.

The image of reflection

Unrecognizable to touch

Disdain and desecration

Reality without a crutch

.

Empathy forsaken

Tossed into the fire

Deviation soon unshackled

Fueled by foul desire

.

The lustful thoughts ruminating

A syringe filled with temptation

Injected into my soul

The filth anticipation

.

Hostility trapped within a maze

Sediment of sifted thoughts

Lack of physical restraint

The voices chant their taunts

.

Sharpened unforgiving steel

Pressed against my flesh

A rapid pulsing river flows

The scent of sweet duress

.

Constantly performing

Upon this high-rise ledge

Concrete anxiously awaits

My slip or final pledge

.

Explosiveness within my grip

Fragmented fleeing matter

Serenity of the aftermath

The crimson abstract splatter

.

The noose is tightly cinched

With a detrimental zest

Gently sways the Maple Tree

A soul finally at rest

H-T ~ As I scroll through your gorgeous offerings I see many are grouped six months ago. But, so glad I've discovered you as 'Bunk Mates' (metaphorically speaking) in the 'Humor' Category.
