Provocateur

Frenemy

By Kristen Keenon FisherPublished 9 months ago Updated 9 months ago 1 min read

There’s a notch in the doorway

That sits by your eyeline

Struggling to find its place

+++Their tongues were like swords

Clashing for a time

Speaking of all the things.....

......that temporary love won’t offer

Was it more than your heart can handle?

You turn away from the noise

But it swims between your ears

Familiar as a voice

You’ve known through the years

++++++

Betrayal sits like murky water

++++++

You watched her love your lover

Told her brother

Called your sister

Blamed your mother

Heard it crystal

The refrain,

then the calm disregard

for what you'd been through
