Promise

they say, everything happens for a reason

the exact park, which was the only place i was most vulnerable to accept he was gone

Always me dressed in a white promise hoodie, something i truly imagined him wearing

The piece of my heart that left that day, came back star gazing- like messages he was sharing

Feeling i was among the same bright lights that became my best-friends' new family

Holding onto the swing-set chains, as if the sky above me was ready to take me to him in Galilee

Lifting up my forest green eyes filled with tears; to notice a shooting star gleam past the moon

By that glimpse of purity alone, my ears heard a whisper say, "you'll be reunited soon"

As if the moon became God, caring for Heaven above and the valley below

It was never a secret the one that id lost, my love for him would never outgrow

My heart began to beat again at this one park, about this one boy

It became my place of rushing safety, and divine joy

Illustrating with my mind and soul, his hands around my body- as i look up at his chestnut curls

His friendship with me was worth far more than pearls

Because of the stars at this parks atmosphere, they remind me hes at peace in Heaven

Watching the sky and missing him, meant I'm a little closer to understanding his ascension
