Prodigal Daughter

"My Daughter, welcome back Home."

By Miniely Valdez Published 5 years ago • 2 min read

Acceptance

Truth

Warmth

Love

Home

It’s the fact that you meet me where I am

You don’t make me run all the way

As I’m running back to you

You’ve already made it halfway to greet me

With

Love

Home

Flaws and all

Sinner and foe

Anger issues

Abused

Dark memory after memory hiding the light in my path

But when you look at me

You see

Home

I am accepted

To be taken in simply because you love me gets me all the time

It’s the hope in your words

The future in your eyes

The truth in your correction

No fear of deception

You are light

And it consumes me

until all I can see is

Home

Safety

Protection

My fence

No need to hide

It’s colors on the rainbow

The changes in the leaves

The rainy Sundays with

movies and popcorn

Crackle and pop

Enjoyment

Laughter

The sunrise in the morning

Sunset in the evening

Beauty

Reception

Scars on my skin

Loud voice in a quiet room

Clumsy and at times forgetful

Burdened and bruised

But don’t get it confused

He meets me where I am

Home

I don’t have to put on a show to make Him believe

He already knows

I don’t have to put on my best garments to impress

He takes me as I am

I don’t need to be full of everything else to prove a point

He accepts me empty

because He can fill me with His riches

Home

I know who I am because of who He is

Nothing can even come close to His greatness

that led me to His mercy

Home

I left to follow my own thoughts and dreams

Only to find

That I have no life

If I don’t have Him

Luke 15 might as well have been for me

Because all I could read was

Miniely its time to come

Home

No matter how far I would stray

He always paved a way

Right back

Home

A level of hope that no one else can provide

Its truth in the blood that dripped down His Sons side

It’s the lies and schemes committed against His name

Yet on the 3rd day

He rose again

Home

I have a seat at the table of the King

Dirty and worn

Aggressive and defensive

On E from giving all of her and has yet to receive

The giver

Never the given

Tired

Exhausted

Sickly

Down

And yet I have a seat at the table

As I am

Accepted

Home

No man nor woman can ever fulfill the desire

The frankincense and myrrh

The scent of life in every breath

The air I breathe

My food to eat

My way maker out of no way

My joy

My redeemer

Miracle in the impossible

Fearless

Unstoppable

Home

Fill up my empty spaces with your truth and graces

Satisfy my heart with your Word and love

Wipe my every tear with your hand of deliverance

Clean my mind and bring me back to

Home

I have a seat at the table

I know who I am

I have gone astray but my heart wants to come

Home

“My daughter, welcome back home. For you were once dead but have now come back to life.”
