"Good Man" won't reread itself,
and there are so many details to capture,
skewer on the point of a stiletto,
shish kebab of words,
symbols,
meaning marinating in my mind
until I'm ready to make my own
arrangement:
onion, steak, mushroom,
steak, onion, pepper, steak,
tomato, zucchini, onion
When the coals glow down to
perfect embers, I'll
sizzle my skewers
onto the grill, delicious
smoke tantalizing
the neighbors,
who don't know the difference
between a short story
and a story
that's short.
