Prisoner of thoughts

a refugee of melancholy

By Mohamed SakhiriPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read
The Inferno by Gustave Doré, 1857

I feel like a non-person, I just exist

A soulless body, feelings that are mixed

Drought in my heart, clouds and mist

Exhausted, tired, cannot resist

To forget what once could have been fixed

With an embracing hug or kiss

The aim for normalcy, an endeavor one must desist

Acceptance required, for the mind to rest

Of self-delusion, long rejected, refused and dissed
