Prisms Of Persistence

Enlighten The Soul

By Lindsay A. HarveyPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

It's actually you, who I implore

to take a dive, and explore

your innermost demons, although it is quite a daunting chore.

(In myself i've found)

ANGER is red, full of envy and spite

it's the toughest of the wolves

together we must fight,

through the night, with the mightiest of swords held tight.

Though the scorching rage and anger still persist to exist,

with a lust for blood and the power to control an iron fist,

the resilient warrior inside soldiers on

with a heart of gold, and the relentless stamina to resist.

In due time, the brilliant burst of dawn's orange light

will cast its softening glow of understanding and truth.

Now, shift your gaze up onto yellow,

so bold and bright, our illustrious sun,

casting shimmers on grey webs, as the gossamer flows and ebbs

with the fragility of uncertainty

see how they've tangled as we've spun?

Although green is the color of vitality and youth,

much too soon

time turns the tables, lacking any sense of ruth.

The verdant may naïvely grant

the simplicity of life when we leave our mothers' wombs,

Inevitably, inner struggles befall us, and some battles will enthrall us,

but in the end, with wounds we can't mend,

we'll find ourselves at home in our tombs.

While blue represents sadness,

which I guess at times

we all must feel...

Indigo is rather virtuous when our perceptions become surreal.

Our time on this earth is fleeting,

much more than we'll ever know,

our souls are here to feel, congeal, and experientially grow.

Violet rolls with all the punches, as if a sense of calm is near.

It worries not of calamity, as it abolishes all fear.

The time is now upon us,

for the stars to all align.

Anxiety belongs to yesterday,

everything is fine.
