Prisms

A love letter to fluidity

By Christian Laurian Published 5 years ago 1 min read

With an ivory shrouded aura

I tiptoe through this world

Petaled iris, haloed iris

My inner light is pearled

Yet everywhere I meet the glare from

Prisms of perspective

Eye level risen, splintered vision

From the world’s collective

Some eyes see green, of startling shades

Shamrock declares my verve

Chartreuse hints at hidden envy

Emerald bodies nerve

What of the stares mistaking me for

Candied, rose vermillion?

Sexual scarlet, wine blood hot rage

Paint me as a villain

To other people, I’m madcap blue

A cerulean soul

Transmitting tranquil, calm and cool

Tempers under control

Social butterfly, now watch me soar

Golden from mental sun

Cranium canary, burning bright

Sharp mind quick on the run

Still too I’m seen glowing tangerine

Marked as a domineer

Honeyed scented flamboyance

Breathed in by all those near

Lastly I present, in lavender

Born with a psychic sense

Lover of peace, tapped well of wisdom

Homespun through violet lens

Yet all these shades and tones and tinges

Are separate in view

I’m seen as single faceted

My essence is a-skewed

I contain it all within my soul

Sweet multiplicity

Put down your prism, let all light through

Pure authenticity.
